Browns trade WR Amari Cooper to Bills

The AFC East is starting to load up on receiving talent.

The Cleveland Browns have traded wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for draft capital, the Bills announced on Tuesday.

The Browns will receive Buffalo’s third-round pick in 2025 and a seventh-round pick in 2026. Along with Cooper, the Bills will acquire a sixth-round pick in 2025.

Cooper, 30, has struggled with the Browns this season, picking up only 250 yards and two touchdowns over six games.

He reworked his contract with Cleveland in the off-season, bringing him down to a $1.21 million base salary. The Bills will take on only $807,000 in the deal, per ESPN’s Field Yates.

Over his 10-year NFL career, Cooper has passed 1,000 yards seven times and has been named to five Pro Bowls. He has 9,736 career receiving yards and 62 touchdowns between his time spent with the Browns, Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys.

The Bills have been in desperate need of receiving help after losing Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis in the off-season. Khalil Shakir, 24, leads the team with 249 receiving yards.

Despite their weakness at the skill position, Buffalo is 4-2 and sits in first place in the AFC East after beating the New York Jets on Monday night.
